Due to the Festival on the Ring, a large section of the A10 Ring Road will be closed for several days. On Saturday 21 June, the inner ring will become the place for thousands of festive visitors, both during the day and in the evening. To make this event possible, large parts of the A10 Ring will be closed from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 June.

To avoid major congestion and to ensure emergency services have access, some streets in the city will also be temporarily closed to car traffic. Your home or business will remain accessible, but please be aware: it will be extremely busy. Drivers travelling in, out of, or past Amsterdam should expect significant delays – journey times may increase by over an hour.

To everyone travelling into or out of the city: leave the car at home!

Coming to the Festival on the Ring? Come on foot, by bike, scooter – or if needed, by public transport.

Travel advice for the weekend of 20–22 June:
Before you set off, make sure to check a public transport journey planner and/or a navigation app such as Google Maps, Apple Maps, TomTom, Go or Waze. These apps provide real-time traffic updates, including all road closures and diversions, and help you choose the best route with the least disruption.

This page contains up-to-date information on all closures and diversions. We’ll continue to add more details in the coming weeks.

At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a list of frequently asked questions. If your question isn’t listed, feel free to email us at amsterdam750@amsterdam.nl – we’ll be happy to help.

A10 Ring Road Closures

On Friday evening, 20 June 2025, the western, southern, and eastern parts of the A10 (between the A5 and A1 junctions) will close from 21:00.

On Saturday 21 June, the inner ring will be the main festival area during the day and evening. The outer ring will remain open for emergency services and public transport only.

On Sunday, the event will be dismantled and the area cleaned. From 15:00 onwards, the entire A10 Ring Road will reopen to traffic.

Regional traffic will be diverted via the A1, A9, and A5. Expect delays of up to (and possibly over) one hour.

City Centre Closures

To keep traffic moving and give emergency services space, several city streets will be temporarily closed to cars. These closures do not apply to emergency services, cyclists, public transport, or those with permits for bus and tram lanes.

Public Transport

GVB will start metro services earlier (from 06:00) and run them later (until 02:00) throughout the weekend. More metros will run during the event. Amstelveenseweg, Amsterdam RAI, and De Vlugtlaan metro stations will be closed for safety reasons and will not be accessible. GVB will take extra crowd-control measures at other key stations. Some bus routes will be diverted.

On 21 June, NS will run longer trains to and from Amsterdam. To avoid overcrowding, trains will not stop at Amsterdam RAI and Amsterdam Lelylaan. Additional measures will be taken at Amsterdam Zuid and Sloterdijk stations to increase capacity and ensure safety.
