From the start of the jubilee year on October 27 2024, the entire city was festively decorated for three weeks with Amsterdam 750 banners. Banners are long flags attached to a mast and are often displayed on bridges. You’ve likely seen them, from the city center to Southeast and Weesp.
Starting November 18 2024, the banners will be removed from the streets to make room for other events, such as the IDFA Film Festival. However, the banners will regularly reappear throughout the city next year, as the jubilee year has much more in store. At many sports parks and recycling points across the districts, the banners (and flags) will remain on display all year. Additionally, the 750 flags at all city offices will continue to wave cheerfully throughout the year.
