The 'Amsterdammer Cheese' is making a comeback. The young Amsterdam cheese, which disappeared from the market in recent decades, is returning specially for Amsterdam's 750th jubilee.
The Amsterdammer is a young cheese made by the Farmers of Amstel from the Amstelland, the backyard of Amsterdam. And the cheese is not only flavorful but also great for biodiversity! For every kilo of cheese sold, the Farmers of Amstel will sow one square meter of biodiversity along the ditch banks.
This young, full-fat cheese is already available for pre-order and will be available in cheese shops, supermarkets, and restaurants from the start of the jubilee year on October 27, 2024.
