On April 11th, the performance Café 749 by music theater company Orkater will premiere. Leading up to the celebration of Amsterdam 750, the question arose: how do you actually celebrate the birthday of your city, and who do you invite for it? The performance is specially created for the celebration of Amsterdam 750, featuring artists such as Geert Lageveen, Leopold Witte, Jip van den Dool, Jouman Fattal, Cripta Scheepers, the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra, and a group of Amsterdam-based musicians.
Orkater presents with this performance a musical tribute to the city and also a homage to the former Amsterdam alderman Monne de Miranda. The premiere is on Thursday, April 11, 2024, in the Central Market Hall in Amsterdam, transformed into Café 749. Ticket sales have started.
