On Wednesday, April 10th, the long-awaited first recording of Radio Danspaleis finally took place. This recording was part of a series of eight, specially held in honor of the 750th anniversary of Amsterdam and subsidized by the Amsterdam 750 foundation. This time, the recording took place in the vibrant community center De Bonte Kraai in Amsterdam Southeast, which served as a splendid backdrop for local music enthusiasts Kenneth and Carlo.
Kenneth Brand Flu is a well-known figure in Amsterdam Southeast. He provides free saxophone lessons at the neighborhood center Gein and has a deep love for music. With an impressive musical background, Kenneth has earned his place as a respected resident of Southeast. His words speak volumes: “Music is the lubricant of everything, People momentarily rise above the music, people should help you, love for people and music.”
Carlo Bijlhout shares a similar passion for music. For years, he has shared his talent and love for music with youth at the Bonte Kraai. His dedication to discipline and daily practice has helped him master various instruments, from drums to saxophone. His idol is Bob Marley, and he has a preference for jazz and reggae.
