Yesterday, the second workshop session for the Future Fest took place at Hotel Casa Amsterdam, an inspiring event focused on collaboration. With nearly 100 enthusiastic initiators from various parts of the city and region, it was a day full of ideas, conversations, and new connections.
What will our city look like in the future? What will we eat, how will we travel, how will we live together, and how will the city be designed? During the jubilee year, we’re not only looking back but also forward. This will take place during the ToekomstTiendaagse, from June 12 to 21, 2025, featuring numerous initiatives focused on the city’s future, culminating in the Op de Ring festival.
The program began with a speed-dating session, a low-threshold way to get to know each other and share initial ideas. This was followed by a brief presentation on the results of a survey among Amsterdammers about their vision for the city’s future. The findings highlighted a strong need for greater connection. This served as a great starting point to explore how initiatives can reinforce one another and contribute to a more cohesive Amsterdam. The participants were then inspired by short pitches about some finalized activities, such as the Open Tower Day and the greening of NEMO’s roof.
In two interactive rounds, the initiators joined forces. Which ideas can strengthen one another? Which people and organizations can truly support each other, and what is needed to achieve this?
The afternoon concluded with a “popcorn moment,” where everyone had the opportunity to share the connections they had made and the help they offered or received. It was inspiring to see everyone working together toward a shared goal: a future-proof Amsterdam! The workshop session was facilitated by Koos Agency.
