Amsterdam 750 is being celebrated on a grand scale, including with music. The JAM Foundation organizes a special Eurovision Song Contest edition for singing enthusiasts aged 55 and older: Ode to Mokum.
Get involved!
Anyone aged 55+ can participate, as a soloist, duo or trio. The participants choose a song in each language and music style. There is one important rule: the song must be about Amsterdam. You can register here.
All participants sing live with the Ode to Mokum quintet (piano, drums, bass, guitar and accordion). During the finale this is expanded to an orchestra with violin, cello, trumpet, saxophone and percussion. Musical director is pianist Kees van Zantwijk.
Where and when?
Ode to Mokum has four preliminary rounds in special locations of Stadsherstel. The grand finale takes place in Theater Amsterdam.
