On October 27, the Palace will launch the new 'Mokum Tour.' This multimedia tour, developed in collaboration with 'Ommetje met Tom,' will be available for free to all visitors. In just one hour, Tom and Josephine will guide you through the history of the Palace and Amsterdam, filled with fascinating facts and trivia. For instance, discover who added the phrase 'heroic, resolute, merciful' to the Amsterdam city coat of arms. For grades 7 and 8 of primary education, a special program has been developed: 'Palace Mysteries.' In the basement of the Palace, three mysterious chests have been discovered. What stories from the past 350 years will they reveal? Together with a Palace staff member, students will embark on an expedition through the building in search of answers. The festive kick-off will take place on November 6, with participation from children from various neighborhoods in Amsterdam. Participation is free for 750 children.
In the lead-up to the Future Ten Days, the Palace, in collaboration with Young Impact, will host a youth program in May 2025 for secondary school students and MBO students. Under the guidance of inspiring role models, they will reflect on the future of Amsterdam and envision what their ideal city would look like.
During the jubilee year, a Palace symposium will be dedicated to the future and identity of the city of Amsterdam. On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, distinguished speakers will share their unique perspectives on this topic. The symposium will take place at the Royal Palace Amsterdam and is by invitation only.
To conclude the jubilee year in grand style, the Rijksmuseum and the Royal Palace Amsterdam are joining forces to create a top exhibition for the first time together. From June 18 to October 27, 2025, Amsterdam's best-kept art secret will be showcased in full: Artus Quellinus (1609-1668). Quellinus is the master who richly adorned the Palace with marble and bronze sculptures, from the iconic statue of Atlas to the exquisite sculptures in the Burgerzaal.
