On February 29th, a creative brainstorming session took place regarding the programming of the jubilee celebration with 75 enthusiastic residents of Amsterdam, Weesp, and the Metropolitan region. Participants of the so-called 'Stem van 750' (Voice of 750) shared their ideas at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. These ideas were then presented to Program Office Amsterdam 750 and its community partner, Rabobank, both aiming for increased engagement in the jubilee year.
During a creative brainstorming session, three highlights of the jubilee year were discussed with the enthusiastic participants: the celebration on the Ring A10 (on June 21, 2025), the Future Ten Days event (ten days in June 2025), and the city’s birthday (October 27, 2025). Participant Sharon, full of anticipation, shares his perspective on the birthday in advance: “For me, the birthday itself, on October 27, 2025, is the moment I look forward to the most. This is the moment when everything will come together and what you will ultimately always remember. This will be something I will share with my children later on.”
Participants brainstormed, voted on ideas, developed the best ones into concepts, and then presented them, using a large number of post-its and large poster sheets. Discussions revolved around the possibility of setting a world record during the celebration on the Ring. Sports and cultural activities on the Ring were also enthusiastically discussed. The evening generated an abundance of ideas. Now it’s time to explore what can be implemented. The detailed content of the programming will be announced at a later date.
At the end of the evening, we asked participants what they are most looking forward to. Participant Akib shares his enthusiasm: “I’m looking forward to the celebration on the Ring. I believe this will be a highlight for many, and I expect people outside Amsterdam are also eager to participate in this festive event.” In May, the third meeting with the ‘Stem van 750’ will take place.
