On November 23, the Program Bureau Amsterdam 750 had its first conversation with The Voice of 750, a group of 75 remarkable 'ordinary' residents of Amsterdam, Weesp, and the Metropolitan Region. The main question of the evening: what do you think of the plans? What do you like and what is still missing?
Program Director Sietse Bakker: “The evening yielded a lot of valuable input. Critical and constructive, creative and surprising. One thing is certain: Thanks to their reflection and ideas, it will be an even more beautiful year for all Amsterdammers and everyone who holds the city dear.”
One of the participants is Marleen Creton, entrepreneur at the ‘Bijlmerbox’. “I consider inclusivity very important. Involving diverse Amsterdammers in the city. So also in Amsterdam 750. I became a participant because I appreciate being asked to join the conversation. The jubilee year should be an inclusive celebration. Accessible to everyone. Show all facets of Amsterdam. That’s my opinion. Innovation in communication is also important; how do you involve the city at every level? Young people, the elderly, and people with disabilities.”

The Voice of 750 is a ‘gift’ from Rabobank Amsterdam to Amsterdam 750. Rabobank Amsterdam is a community partner of the celebration of Amsterdam 750. “We want it to be a celebration for all Amsterdammers, from all districts,” says Erik Versnel, director of Rabobank Amsterdam.
