Over 200,000 visitors celebrated one of the highlights of Amsterdam 750 on a 15-kilometer car-free A10 ring road on June 21, 2025. It was a beautiful day, an unforgettable and wonderful celebration.
The festival kicked off in the morning with the Run Op de Ring, followed by 20 weddings, lots of sports, music, dance, fashion shows, workshops, activities for children, and a beautiful forest was set up on the Ring South.
It was a tropically warm day, which posed some extra challenges, but visitors paid close attention to the advice on how to prepare for it. Most areas were busy but manageable. Only at Audio Obscura did it get so crowded at one point that visitors climbed over the fences. For that reason, the event was temporarily paused there in the interest of visitor safety. Fortunately, with additional support from police and security, the festival was able to conclude beautifully at that location during the final half hour.
There were some busy spots in the city and around the ring, but the festival did not cause major traffic problems—neither in the city nor outside of it. The dismantling also went smoothly. The Ring was fully reopened to traffic on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.
We thank all visitors, staff, volunteers, and everyone else who contributed to celebrating Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary in such a wonderful way.
