On this page we already lift a corner of the veil about what to do during the festival Op de Ring. On May 21 we share the full program.
We kick off the festival with a Run on the Ring! The 7.5 kilometer long course starts from Watergraafsmeer (S113) and goes via a short loop over the A2 to the festive finish at the RAI (S109). Along the way, DJs provide the best beats and the runners are loudly encouraged in the cheering zone. The Run is completely sold out, registration is unfortunately no longer possible.
A musical dance parade of floats, a DJ cargo bike and dance groups. All with their own programming and style. With punk & rock, techno, Caribbean, urban & hip hop. The parade moves at walking pace over the A10 between the entrance of the s106 to the s105 (parallel to the Rembrandtpark). Walk, dance and party along!
Here you can hear the voices of Amsterdam and Weesp. Choirs will perform all day long. How about the big hits of Guilty Pleasures, the infectious fun of Popkoor Lust for Live, musical hits of the Gay Men's Chorus Manoeuvre or rock and ballads of Mixed Up from Weesp.
Amsterdam Fashion Week celebrates 750 years of Amsterdam with a 'Past, Present, Future' catwalk show. Led by mentors Borre Akkersdijk (BYBORRE), Guillaume Philibert (FILLING PIECES) and Renée van Wijngaarden (1/OFF PARIS), five promising talents will present 60 looks on the catwalk. In addition, there will be a fashion show by Diversity Fashion Week, Colourful Goodies and Diversity Model Agency. Expect a powerful fashion statement for diversity, inclusivity and representation of all that Amsterdam has to offer. Model agency VDM Models is involved in part of the casting for these shows.
The best from all the city's neighbourhoods. This neighbourhood festival guarantees surprising encounters and special collaborations. Enjoy African dance, listen to world music, accordion or jazz, cook a new dish together, dance or just have a chat with another Amsterdammer. It's all possible here!
During the festival Op de Ring, 20 couples will say 'I do'. The ceremonies will be provided free of charge by the registrars of the municipality of Amsterdam, in Dutch or English. Bridal couples can count on a festive wedding location with space for their guests. Almost 400 couples registered for the wedding Op de Ring. Due to the great interest, a notary drew lots.
During the festival Op de Ring, part of the A10 will be transformed for one day into… a forest! A temporary forest with 750 large trees that the city received as a gift from 14 donors, and another 7,500 small trees from De Gezonde Stad.
The entire programme will be announced on 21 May. Visitors are advised to come by foot or bike as much as possible. Public transport will be busier than usual. And for those who want to go into or out of the city during the weekend of 20-22 June, the urgent appeal is: Leave the car at home!
